Blessing of Rain

After a long humid

and intensely hot spell,

temperatures cooled.

Today, we received

the blessing of Rain.

It was gentle,

without Fanfare

of Thunder,

Lightning,

Wind.

Melanie and I

stood outside

and felt the Rain

fall on us

and all around.

We got 1/3 inch total

which is not a lot.

The Soil is still very dry,

but Plants and Humans

experienced some relief.

Both Rain Barrels

are full.

Our gratitude

goes from horizon to horizon

which is the stretch

of the Clouds.
