Cider Press

Richard ordered a cider press earlier in the week.  It is to be delivered to the Crawford family farm in Millard today.  Meanwhile, the Apple Trees in their orchard are heavy with fruit.  Get the picture?  We are all in stages of expectancy.  I can almost taste that Apple Cider.

Someday we'll spring for a press too. They're just so expensive!

In the mean time, we mostly use a steam juicer. We also have a few local harvest festivals that have a community press available for folks to use.

Although the steam juicer is a "safer" way to juice, since it heat sterilizes everything, I still prefer the cloudy, syrupy cider from a good old fashioned press. ;)
