Bonnet

When the Permaculture class came on Saturday, Hannah arrived in her Bonnet. It was really neat. The Bonnet added a touch to the Farm which we had not experienced before. Hannah explained that several of the Folks at Sand Hill are wearing Bonnets this summer. They purchased them at Zimmerman's Store.

Richard's Mother, Ethel May Kirkpatrick Crawford, wore a Bonnet. I contacted Deleta to see if they had one of her Bonnets. This, by the way, is the 100th anniversary of her Birth. Ethel passed in 1991 at 81. Deleta said that they do have one of her Bonnets. I am excited. I hope to make a pattern of it and to make at least one.

Richard remembers that his Mother's Bonnet had cardboard in the brim. Apparently Cereal Boxes were just perfect for this important task.

I wore my Straw Gardening Hat into the Nursing Home on a visit with Mother earlier this Summer. Spontaneously, several of the Ladies talked about their Gardening Hats. They became quite animated about it. One Lady talked about how her Grandmother wore a Bonnet and that Bonnet also had cardboard in the Brim.

Some things just should never go out of style.
