Yellow Season

A Native American Elder in the North Country once told me that this Season is known as "the Yellow Season". It surely is. Yellow is everywhere and it is in profusion. Flowers proliferate on the Meadow. Sometimes, the Blue Vervain is still blooming. Its purplish cast just intensifies the Yellow of the Flowers. Down in the Woods, Radiant Yellow Leaves are beginning to appear where once there was Glorious Green. This explosion of Color is much like a Grand Finale of the Growing Season. I have been thinking about this. It seems to me that the Sun, with all the intensity of the Summer Season, has been raining Sunshine down on all Living Things. That Sun is the Stuff of Life (in consort with Earth, Water, Air). At this Season, the Sun is in Retreat back to its Winter Home. The Sun in the Heat of the Day is still quite Warm, but like it or not, the coolness of Fall is apparent underneath.

That Radiant Yellow Color is a marker of the Blessings of the Path of the Sun as He has passed our way and now heads into Slumber. All the Earth celebrates the Blessings of the Sun Passing this Way in the Summer Season. We 3 C's sure do in our own special way. We should surely think on that. In the Grand Scheme of things, we should recognize, cherish, and honor more.
