No "Pause Button"

The Gardens are now very well established. The Weeds are not vanquished but they are not the Dominant Pesky Critters of a few days ago. Melanie noted that her Tomato Plants are bigger today than yesterday. And so it goes, Plants are growing at a Rapid Rate. The Choice of Produce for our Meals expands every single day.

That is a good thing. But during this Season, there is No "Pause Button". Harvest will effectively go from late July through October. The Humans somehow will find a pattern.

Just now: Richard and Melanie just planted Fall Potatoes. Onions are in stages of Harvest. The Garlic is nearly ready. Richard has picked Green Beans. We should have our 1st Canner Load in a couple of Days. He hopes to Can 80-100 Quarts of Green Beans. We will do it 1 Canner Load at a time (10 Quarts). We will celebrate every Bean the Earth gives. Nothing is Garunteed here. The Dewberries are ripening, but there are more Vines than Berries. Last night, we just cruised the Beds on the Meadow for an after Dinner Snack. Peaches should be ready in the next couple of weeks. Melanie has been drying Celeriac Leaves, Peppermint, Lemon Balm, Apple Mint, Peppermint, Red Clover, Chamomile. It's time to get the Table Herbs stocked up.

Speaking of No "Pause Button", we have also started Seedlings. All are Brassicas (Cabbages, Brussel's Sprouts, Broccoli, Cauliflower). The Fall Garden should be in the Ground by late July.

I think I shall "Pause" here. Maybe that is the "Pause Button" that we seek. Occasionally, we will find it and, hopefully, we will remember that it is O.K. to use it.
